Less than a week.

It's Wednesday the 29th of October. It's less than a week before Election day.   I don't know or care who you're voting for.  That's up to you and your conscience. One thing I'm sure of is I'm done with politics. I don't want to hear another word spoken on the subject.  This political season has been the worst in my memory.  The most vile and abusive things have been said about perfectly good people. The level of hatred displayed by my fellow citizens toward each other is apalling.  I'm ashamed.  I fear for our future.

Your Neighborhood Tavern

Want that old Chicago-style tavern experience again? Want that experience on the cheap?

Let me suggest;

G  & L Fire Escape

Corner of Grace and Leavitt in the St. Bens neighborhood.

Open from 7:00am until 2:00am for your drinking pleasure.

This might explain why my head hurts today.

Grocery list

I have to go to the grocery store ASAP.  I need eggs, bread, milk and various and sundry vegetables.

It's time to start working on this winter's hobby; breadmaking. I think this will follow with "pawning off bread to my co-workers".  I think I can sucker them in with pies/pastries. They're big on sweet stuff.

I'm trying to cut down on expenses now that we're in the new "Economy of Fear". Yeah, fear of unemployment during the potentially worst economic times ever.  I've been going through my checkbook and credit card statements looking for any of those re-occuring expenditures that keep slipping through the cracks. So far I've managed to reduce my outgo by almost $500 a month. I hope that I can cut a little more w/o having to hack away at cable TV.

First Blog.

Well...here it is.  It's all downhill from here.  Enjoy.
